ALERTS & UPDATES:

Valens Lookout Platform Replacement
Due to safety concerns, the lookout tower has been removed from Valens Lake Conservation Area. This tower, while well-loved, was built in the mid-1970s and had reached the end of its lifespan.
A new lookout platform, pictured at right, is being constructed in the same location as the original. It will have a similar footprint but will be wheelchair-accessible. It will include two viewing decks constructed of steel and wood for a longer usable life and, as the first tower did, provide a unique viewpoint of Valens Lake.
The project has experienced some unexpected delays, and completion is now planned during the 2027 calendar year. A small section of the trail will remain inaccessible until construction is complete.
