Tiffany Falls Conservation Area

Tiffany Falls experiences high visitation, but unlike larger conservation areas, it has limited space and parking to accommodate that use, resulting in significant challenges such as:

• Safety risks currently present at the Wilson Street parking lot due to limited sightlines, high traffic volume and congestion, and high pedestrian volume at peak times
• Overcrowding on trails and in the small parking area, especially on weekends and holidays
• Ecological damage, including vegetation loss, introduction of invasive species, and off-trail use
• Ongoing complaints from visitors and neighbours about traffic, illegal parking, and traffic congestion

These issues were first identified in a 2019 HCA report on visitor management and parking, which recommended high-priority actions for our busiest conservation areas.

In 2023, HCA formally began work to explore a new parking lot on Lower Lion’s Club Road with conceptual work and in 2024, the HCA Board asked for more review before proceeding.

The Tiffany Falls parking lot is small and located on busy Wilson Street. It can fill up quickly, particularly on weekends and holidays. The lot can only accommodate a maximum of 15 vehicles a time.

Police and bylaw officers will be present on weekends and holidays, strictly enforcing no-stopping and illegal parking. To avoid congestion, consider visiting during off-peak times and always park legally. To help control traffic in the area, security and police will be on-site for weekends.

Please plan your visit accordingly and find an alternative lot if the Tiffany Falls lot is full.

Dundas Valley Main Entrance

• Address: 650 Governors Road, Dundas
• Path to Tiffany Falls: Begin your journey by heading towards the Trail Centre. From here, continue to the Main Loop Trail, and make a left onto the Loop. Continue on this trail, until you head over the bridge and up the big hill. At the top of the hill you have three paths, keep left onto the Monarch Trail. Eventually, the trail will split; keep right onto Artaban Road and take it until reaching Lions Club Road. Turn left onto Lower Lions Club Road. Walk down the hill, and just after the three-way stop, hop on the Bruce Trail from Old Dundas Road. Take the Bruce Trail all the way to Wilson Street, where and across the street is the main entrance to Tiffany Falls Conservation Area.

Artaban Road Parking Lot

• Address: 917 Artaban Road, Dundas
• Path to Tiffany Falls: From the parking lot, go left onto Artaban Road towards Lower Lions Club Road. Once reaching Lower Lions Club Road, make another left. Walk down the hill, and just after the three-way stop, hop on the Bruce Trail from Old Dundas Road. Take the Bruce Trail all the way to Wilson Street, where and across the street is the main entrance to Tiffany Falls Conservation Area.
• Distance to Tiffany Falls: Approximately 2-kilometres, one way.

   • Approximately 6-kilometres, one way.
3. Merrick: 380 Lower Lions Club Road, Ancaster, ON
   • Approximately 5-kilometres, one way.
4. Artaban Road: 917 Artaban Road, Dundas, ON
   • Approximately 2-kilometres, one way.
5. Monarch: 855 Old Dundas Road, Dundas, ON
   • Approximately 3.5-kilometres, one way.

Yes. It is $11.50 per vehicle to park in Dundas Valley Conservation Area parking lots. Visitors need to purchase a ticket at the white machines by the trailhead before proceeding with their hike. Tickets must be displayed in the dashboard of each vehicle. Visitors may use the ticket to access other HCA lots on the same day, but will not be able to reuse the ticket at the Tiffany Falls parking lot once they have left.

Access to the bottom of the waterfall is prohibited for visitor safety. Loose escarpment rock falls in this area often and without warning. There may be branches, logs, or other debris that falls over the edge of the waterfall that HCA is not able to monitor or secure. Attempting to reach this area will result in trespass charges.

All users must stay on the gravel path and wooden viewing platform at all times.

Visitors can access the Bruce Trail and the Dundas Valley Conservation Area trails from Tiffany Falls.

The Bruce Trail is accessible via the Tiffany Falls Side Trail. Hiking east will take visitors to Iroquoia Heights Conservation Area, and hiking west will take visitors into Dundas Valley. The Bruce Trail is a single-track footpath suitable only for hiking. This trail runs along the entire Niagara Escarpment from Niagara Falls to Tobermory. See the route here.

The Dundas Valley Conservation Area offers over 40km of multi-use trails. If you are planning a longer hike, we recommend moving your vehicle after visiting Tiffany Falls to our Main Parking Lot at 650 Governor’s Road. This allows you easier access to our trails and washroom facilities, and frees up a parking spot at Tiffany Falls for other users.

Bus parking is prohibited at Tiffany Falls.

There are no garbage receptacles at Tiffany Falls – please pack out what you pack in and leave the conservation area clean.

There are no washroom facilities at Tiffany Falls. Washrooms are available at the Dundas Valley Trail Centre from 9 AM to 3 PM each day.

Flying drones is prohibited on all HCA lands. Professional movie shoots or commercial users may contact HCA main office to inquire about permits. Visit here for more information.

When the weather permits, HCA allows ice climbing at Tiffany Falls through two organizations.

Climbers must be attending a booked session with either the Alpine Club of Canada (ACC) or OneAxe Pursuits.

These organizations are the only permitted ice climbing users, for safety reasons. No individual ice climbing permits will be issued by HCA. Do not access Tiffany Falls without a permit through these organizations.

The conservation area is open from sunrise to sunset, year-round.
