About Lakeland Pool

Located within Confederation Beach Park, Lakeland Pool is the perfect spot to cool off on a hot summer day. Lifeguards are on duty and the pool has a depth of 4 feet. The splashpad opens seasonally.

Pool Rules and Regulations

  • Children 10 years of age and under must have a guardian 12 years of age or older with them in the pool area (inside the fence). Children 10 years of age and under who are non-swimmers must be accompanied by a guardian who is at least 12 years of age and who is in the water within arms reach at all times
  • Children 6-10 years of age who can pass the facility swim test, across and back the width of Lakeland pool may be permitted in the water without a guardian. Children 6-10 years of age who cannot pass the facility swim test must be accompanied by a guardian who is at least 12 years of age and who is in the water within arms reach at all times

A guardian is defined as an individual at least 12 years of age or older who is responsible for the direct supervision of children within their care. Guardians or group leaders are responsible for the children in their care while in the facility and must directly supervise the children at all times.

    • Non-swimmer ratio guardian: children in the water within arms reach
      • 0 to 5 years of age – 1:2
      • 6 to 10 yeas of age – 1:4
  1. Lifejacket/PFDs must be approved by: Transport Canada, Oceans and Fisheries Canada, Canadian Coast Guard and USA Coast Guard Type I, 2 or III. Water wings, puddle jumpers etc. that are labelled as not a lifesaving device will not permitted in the pool.
  2. No snorkels or scuba-type masks are permitted in the pool
  3. No person shall pollute the water in the pool in a manner, and spitting, spouting of water and blowing the nose in the pool or on the deck is prohibited.
  4. Absolutely no food or drinks are allowed in the pool or on the deck. No glass of any kind.
  5. No inflatable items
  6. No diving, No boisterous play, No radios
  7. Diapers must be waterproof or have a waterproof liner
  8. Please obey all lifeguards.
