Christie Lake Conservation Area closed through July 31 following early morning fire

Christie Lake Conservation Area will remain closed through Friday, July 31, following an early-morning fire on July 29 that caused significant damage to two buildings at the conservation area. There were no reported injuries.

The fire heavily damaged the Lakeside Pavilion and Beach Pavilion 1, which houses the beach store and washroom facilities.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation by authorities.

The closure will remain in place to ensure public safety while the extent of the damage is assessed and affected areas are secured.

HCA staff are contacting individuals and groups with upcoming bookings that are affected by the damaged facilities and areas.
