Alternate Routes to Westfield Heritage Village Conservation Area during Kirkwall Road closure
For drivers coming from Hamilton (eastbound on Hwy 8): Continue past the usual Kirkwall Road exit. Turn right onto 5th Concession (approximately 500 metres past Kirkwall). Turn left onto Kirkwall Road (approximately 500 metres later).
For drivers coming from Cambridge (westbound on Hwy 8): Turn left onto 5th Concession before reaching the normal Kirkwall exit. Turn left onto Kirkwall Road approximately 500 metres later.

About Westfield Heritage Village Conservation Area
Westfield Heritage Village Conservation Area is approximately 204 hectares (503 acres) in size and features natural woodlands, plantation forests, provincially significant wetlands, meadow areas, cultural heritage features from past farming operations, and several well-marked recreational trails easily accessed from the village area.
Do some birdwatching or see the butterflies, moths and other creatures that call Westfield home.
The conservation area offers modern washroom facilities, clean and shaded picnic areas and green spaces for visitors to set up your easel, read a book, knit or just relax and enjoy the outdoors. Bring your camera for some unique photo opportunities. Please note, barbecuing is not permitted.
Heritage Village
Westfield is one of Ontario’s most fascinating historical destinations and boasts a stunning collection of over 35 historical buildings that have been restored to capture early Canadian culture. Historical buildings are not open on a daily basis, but visitors may walk through the Village, and enjoy hikes seven days a week. On special and event days, a selection of buildings will be open along with costumed interpreters providing demonstrations and guided tours.
