Fishing

HCA offers several spots to cast a line and reel in that big catch! From Fifty Point, Christie Lake, or Valens Lake, you’ll enjoy hitting the water with your family or friends.

Provincial fishing regulation is in effect and a fishing license is required for anglers 18-64 years of age. Learn more.

HCA has a voluntary catch and release program that helps support a sustainable native fishery within the reservoirs while fishing at Valens Lake and Christie Lake. We encourage all anglers to release their catch if possible.

Ice Fishing

Ice fishing is a must during the winter when conditions permit, and offers a whole new experience for anglers! HCA does not offer ice fishing equipment or huts to rent, and holes are not pre-drilled.

Ice fishing is permitted at Valens Lake and the Fifty Point marina only. Christie Lake never has safe ice conditions for ice fishing or skating. Do not walk on their ice surface at any time. Click here to stay up to date on ice conditions and winter safety.
