Looking to make an impact? The Hamilton Conservation Authority frequently runs events targeting invasive species. In past events, volunteers have helped remove a variety of species from conservation areas all around the watershed. This year we’re looking to do even more!

The over 3,000 hectares managed by HCA are checked for invasive species year-round, but getting rid of them is a big endeavor. Invasive plants like Buckthorn are widespread in Hamilton, though can be easy to remove with the right tools. With a bit of time and training, volunteers like yourself can help HCA staff accomplish much more than we can on our ow
