Fairies in the Forest at Westfield: Sept 3 & 4

Join us for another magical fairy event for every age at Westfield Heritage Village on Sunday, September 3 and Monday, September 4 from 10 AM to 4 PM. Discover the unique world of the fairies’ tiny lives as you explore the buildings and forests. Let your imagination soar with miniature dioramas of the 1800’s including log houses, Victorian shops and little homes, and features in the woods.

New for this year, you can observe how to make miniatures, and take away ideas to create a magical space in your home or garden. Miniature enthusiast and Westfield Volunteer, Will Wheeler, will be on hand to demonstrate his techniques and creations.

Shop at the General Store and Gift Shop, and don’t miss the special Fairy Shoppe. A selection of historical buildings will be open with our volunteers dressed in period clothing, providing historical demonstrations and activities. Remember to stop in at the Fairy Craft Center to make your own winged creature. Hike the trails and enjoy the unique natural features. This is a great time to meet with family and friends for a delightful day.

Advanced Reservation Required
Reservations are now open. Each reservation is for a 2-hour time slot, and includes parking for one vehicle, and up to six people maximum. If you are bringing two vehicles, a second reservation is required.

All visitors, including HCA Membership Pass holders, will be required to make a reservation prior to their visit or will be turned away. No walk-in pedestrian traffic is permitted without a valid reservation. Time slots are available starting at 10 AM, with the last one being available at 2 PM. The program closes at 4PM. You can book a reservation until 9 AM on the day you would like to visit, subject to availability. More information is available on Westfield’s website.

This event is free for HCA Membership Pass holders, but they will be required to pay a $10.00 reservation fee.

Vehicle Fee: $11.00
Per person Fee: $5.00 per person. Ages 5 and under are free.

Water Level Explanations

Flood Status Explanations

	Normal No low water conditions exist.
	Level 1 Water users are asked to voluntarily reduce consumption by 10 percent. Precipitation totals are less than 80 percent of long-term averages and/or 30-day average streamflows are less than 100 / 70 percent (springtime / otherwise) of the minimum of the long-term average monthly flows for summer months.
	Level 2 Water users are asked to voluntarily reduce consumption by 20 percent. Precipitation totals are less than 60 percent of long-term averages and/or 30-day average streamflows are less than 70 / 50 percent (springtime / otherwise) of the minimum of the long-term average monthly flows for summer months.
	Level 3 There is also potential for economic harm to water takers and/or significant harm to the ecosystem. The Hamilton Water Response Team may ask the province to impose mandatory restrictions on those holding Permits to Take Water. Precipitation totals are less than 40 percent of long-term averages and/or 30-day average streamflows are less than 50 / 30 percent (springtime / otherwise) of the minimum of the long-term average monthly flows for summer months.

	Normal No flood conditions exist.
	Watershed Conditions Statement - Water Safety High flows, unsafe banks, melting ice or other factors that could be dangerous for recreational users such as anglers, canoeists, hikers, children, pets, etc. Flooding is not expected.
	Watershed Conditions Statement - Flood Outlook Early notice of the potential for flooding based on weather forecasts calling for heavy rain, snow melt, high wind or other conditions that could lead to high runoff, cause ice jams, lakeshore flooding or erosion.
	Flood Watch Flooding is possible in specific watercourses or municipalities. Municipalities, emergency services and individual landowners in flood-prone areas should prepare.
	Flood Warning Flooding is imminent or already occurring in specific watercourses or municipalities. Municipalities and individuals should take action to deal with flood conditions. This may include road closures and evacuations.
