Ask questions, overcome hurdles, follow your passion! Thank you everyone who joined us for the 5th Sharing Experiences Workshop (SEW) on March 5th, 2016. The day was a great success with 94 people in attendance, 10 presentations, 58 organizations present along with our 2016 keynote speaker Gord Miller, making this the most successful SEW to date. Please watch for the next SEW in 2018.
SEW is for community-minded individual or group member keen on skill-building, networking and sharing ideas about your environmental projects!
SEW offers a balanced mix of presentations, discussion time and opportunities to meet like-minded people. Our goal is to give you resources and key take-home messages to help you develop or enhance environmental projects within your community.
This workshop highlights methods to strengthen your group and engage a broader community audience. Fundraising, youth outreach, board recruitment and project planning are just a few examples of topics we’ve covered in the past.
This event is especially well suited for:
- representatives of clubs or small conservation/stewardship-themed groups
- individuals interested creating positive environmental change
SEW wants your stories and questions for the next workshop. We know you will leave with the tools and inspiration to move your ideas forward!

Sharing Experiences Resource Toolkit
The workshop Organizing Committee has developed a toolkit of resources to assist community-based environmental groups. The toolkit is updated each year and is available online on Skydrive or is available on CD by contacting a member of the Organizing Committee.
The Organizing Committee
As fellow advocates of community-based work, we are proud to offer you this event as a gesture of appreciation for the hard work that you, our neighbours and partners put into environmental projects each year.
