Robert Pasuta re-elected HCA Chairman

Councillor Robert Pasuta was acclaimed Chairman for his second term as head of the Hamilton Conservation Authority board during its February 4 annual meeting.

A resident of Flamborough, Pasuta was first appointed to the HCA’s Board of Directors in 2007 as a City Councillor member.  He was elected as City Councillor for Ward 14 in 2006 and is now in his third term as a City Council member.  He and his family farm 300 acres in Flamborough. In addition to the HCA and City Council committees, he sits on the executive of the Golden Horseshoe Food and Farming Alliance, and has served on the board of directors of the Greenbelt Foundation.  Councillor Pasuta was originally elected as Chairman June 25, 2015.

Santina Moccio, a citizen member of the Board of Directors, was acclaimed Vice-Chair for her second term.  The Vice Chair automatically assumes the chair of HCA's Budget and Administration committee.  Moccio was appointed as a citizen member of the Board of Directors in 2011.  She is an adjudicator with the Ontario Parole Board, and she has a long history of volunteering in her community. A finalist in Hamilton's 2009 Woman of the Year Awards, Moccio's community involvement has focused on literacy, the marginalized, and abused women and children

Other members elected to the Budget & Administration committee were Dan Bowman, Councillor Doug Conley, Councillor Lloyd Ferguson and Councillor Robert Pasuta.

Maria Topalovic was re-elected as Chair of the Conservation Advisory Board (CAB).
